Political Geography of Austria/Salzburg during the last 100 years

As all we know, the political geography of Austria entirely changed since the end of the first World War and break up of Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in 1918. So, with that being sad I want to introduce you a general knowledge of changes that have occurred since the beginning of the WW1 till the present times. Let's begin!

#1   First of all, let's start from the post-WW1 dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
At that time, most of the countries were interested in making colonies and forming new valid nations that would support their main political, military and economic preferences and ideas. Examples of these countries were England, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and, of course, Germany. So, the Austrian-Hungarian empire was the part of such ideas but that was hopeless and you know why(WW1).  In the Treaty of St. German, Austria became a small country, only housing german-speakers as the major population. Basically, after defeating of Germany in the capital cities of Vienna and Budapest, the political power was given to the left or liberal political parties. Because of that, Emperor had lost much of his power and the Austrian government has been formed. That eventually split Austria from Hungary. That geographical changes you can see on the map that is down below.

#2        Next topic about which we are going to talk is Anschluss. Word Anschluss is basically mean the invasion of Austria into Nazi Germany in 1938, which was proclaimed as the fascist totalitarian state.
(google pictures)
This movement actually meant the Unite of two countries ( Germany and Austria). Austria was invaded by the Third Reich, which was the main political power in Germany, on March 12 in 1938. There even formed an Austrian Nazi party. At that time, no one was agreed with such affairs even Austria itself who wanted to be independence but Hitler, who was the leader of Nazi party, proclaimed that Austria is now under the control of his authority and he sent there troops to take control over it. "Allies were committed to upholding the terms of the Treaty of Versailles and no military confrontation took place"(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anschluss) and even strongest voices from different countries remained at peace. After this union, Germany became the Great Germany.

#3         Our next topic is post-WW2 Allied zoning which was the greatest and the biggest influence on German and Austrian territories.

How you can see in this picture, after the end of the second World War different major countries took the control over the parts of Germany which led to changes in geographical boundaries later on. The division was ratified at the Potsdam Conference from 17 of July to 2 of August in 1945. In Autumn, the United States, United Kingdom and the Soviet Union had agreed on zones by London Protocol which led to separations and detachments of land from Germany, as well as taking the control over the Austrian government but not for a long time.

#4 The next event which followed these proclaims, was "permanent neutrality".

The Declaration of Neutrality was by the Austrian Parlament because the wanted to be neutral. It was later established on October 26 in 1955 as a constitutional act of Parlament. After the leave of Allied powers, Austria eventually became independent and continued to develop its own politic, economic issues. All land that was occupied before was given back.

#5   a) Current types of the government of Salzburg City, Land, Austria.

In the 1918 after the end of the first World War, the Duchy of Salzburg was dissolved and replaced with the State of Salzburg. Later, in 1938 Salzburg and all the territory of Austria was annexed to the Third Reich. Later, Salzburg was occupied by the United States. After the proclamation of independence, Austria became a federal government with the control over federal states. For right now, the State Government is headed by State Captain, governor. At 2013-2014 Austrian People Party was the majority that controlled government.

b)  First of all, let's talk about the representations of the whole government. Around 110 people represent Austria's interests including foreign ministry staff and experts from each of the federal ministries.  If I was a citizen of Austria who is living in Salzburg at 106 Moosstrasse, I would be represented as the Salzburg citizen with representer of mine city.
